Our client is currently seeking a qualified and experienced Senior Mine/ Exploration Project Geologist to lead and manage a team of geological professionals and ensure the supply of products to internal and external customers. Reporting directly into the Technical Services Manager, you will be responsible for all changes to both short and long term resource development and exploration activities.
 
Responsibilities for this critical role are:

• Leading teams of mine and drilling geologists.     
• Geotechnical database management.
• Pit inspections and monitoring of slope performance.
• Design and execute resource infill drilling programs.
• Coordinate geology activities, exploration and resource definition work.    
• Implementation of 6 Sigma Processes to the mining operation for process improvement.
• Elevate potential resourcing issues with potential solutions.

This role will focus on providing mentoring and development for geologists, as training and development are key strong points with this organisation. You will have the freedom to manage, create and develop a team of key Engineers to facilitate and complete all project work.

To be successful, the correct candidate will have these key credentials:

• Degree in Geology or Mining Related Discipline.
• Several years experience with providing geotechnical support.
• Demonstrated experience managing geological functions in an open cut mining operation.
• Sound understanding of geological resource modeling processes.
• Demonstrable management and team leadership skills, including strategic planning and budgeting.      
• Highly experienced with computer management software (e.g. Galena, Surpac, Datashed, 3D modelling software, Minescape)
