.Net Developer
Initial three month contract opportunity for an experienced .Net Developer to join an established Queensland government project.
 
You will be responsible for:
 
  • Manage, develop, enhance and maintain the applications, database, data warehouse and reporting services required to meet the business and operational needs of the agency.
  • Provide technical expertise, guidance, assistance and advice to system development teams and less experienced colleagues regarding the analysis, design, planning and delivery of applications, database, data warehouse and reporting projects.
  • Assist in the development and evaluation of plans and strategies as well as standards for programming tools and techniques that meet the long-term requirements for applications services in the agency.
  • Maintain and develop all required documentation, including design documents, project quality plans, processes and procedures.
  • Liaise with product vendors and clients to identify and resolve complex application issues and to identify beneficial changes.
  • Monitor recent industry developments and trends, including liaising with external professional bodies and tertiary institutions, to enable the implementation of best practice information technology.
  • Take technical responsibility for all stages in software development process and act as a point of escalation for applications-related issues.
 
SKILL SET REQUIRED - To be considered, you must have high level knowledge and proven experience in:
 
  • .Net development (preferably C#, ASP.Net and Enterprise Library);
  • MS-SQL and T-SQL;
  • Source control systems, particularly TFS;
  • The development of rich client applications in an n-tiered environment connecting to web services;
  • XML, AJAX, Jscript and related technologies.
