Junior Business Analyst, NSW Government Organisation, Parramatta based, 6 contract, immediate start
My client, a large NSW Government organisation requires the services of a Business Analyst for a Parramatta-based opportunity working on an initial 6 month contract that will be extended based on performance.
As a Junior Business Analyst, you will be working closely with business stakeholders and a Systems Integrator with an emphasis on the management of documentation relating to organisational processes, requirements and subsequent organisational change.
This includes the identification, measurement and analysis of business requirements, business impact, procedures and development of subsequent documentation to support communication and training throughout the project life cycle - reporting directly to the Project Manager.
As the Junior Business Analyst, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Assist in the evaluation of proposed system solutions in close liaison with system developers to ensure the delivery of solutions are consistent with defined client expectations;
Convene and facilitate workshops as necessary in the development and validation of user requirements;
Assist Senior Business analysts in the development of business, functional and technical requirements including business case development;
Work with project team to undertake business impact assessment; stakeholder identification & analysis; development of communication plans; and development of training materials;
Facilitate the design, development and distribution of documents that support changed business and systems processes;
Ensure compliance with client specifications and quality assurance standards; and
Work as an effective team member to promote organisation change.
Required skills, knowledge and experience:
Experience as a business analyst in developing business requirements and preparing functional/non-functional specifications with complex or large information systems;
Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain business documents including user guides, reports, user requirement documentation, surveys and training materials;
Well developed communication skills (oral and written), interpersonal skills and facilitation skills;
Proven capacity to develop and maintain sound working relationships with key stakeholders and clients;
Highly developed skills in computer literacy, particularly in the area of business productivity products - Microsoft Word, Visio, Excel and PowerPoint etc; and
Proven ability to work successfully in a team environment with excellent customer service skills and minimal supervision.
