One ofAustralia's leading, diversified manufacturing businesses is looking for an experienced Purchasing Manager to manage and improve purchasing and inventory management practices.

Some of the key responsibilities of this role include:

• Cost effective and efficient coordination of complex purchasing activities across the site in line with business procurement strategy
• Inventory management in line with operational and budget requirements
• Key supplier relationship management on a regional, national and global basis to drive contract utilisation, and improved cost benefit results
• Challenge existing arrangements, contracts and procedures with suppliers
• Lead and manage purchasing personnel to create and sustain a high performing business unit

The successful candidate will have:

• Tertiary qualifications in business or related field
• Significant purchasing experience in complex commercial environments, ideally engineering, manufacturing or a related industry
• Proven supplier and contract management experience
• Demonstrated leadership experience
• Sound mechanical or electrical knowledge would be a distinct advantage due to the nature of the industry
• SAP (desirably but not mandatory)

You will be a strong decision maker with solid negotiation skills, great internal and external relationship building skills and have outstanding research and analytical skills.
