Our client is a leading provider of logistics services to the mining, oil & gas and other large scale commercial sectors.  They operate in some of the worlds most remote and challenging environments. 

Based on site in the highlands, this person will be responsible for developing and implementing logistical operational requirements to ensure provision and implementation of timely and resource efficient logistics solutions to include transportation and warehousing. 

The key responsibilities include: 

• Collaborate with the GM to ensure all project logistical requirements are met.
• Manage all operations holistically and directly where necessary, including transportation and warehousing.
• Coordinate with forwarders, port authorities, custom and other parties as required.
• Liaise with relevant department managers in relation to the development and implementation of logistics concepts and standard operational procedures.
• Identify problem areas and offer solutions to improve operations.
• Ensure safe systems of work are applied across the project logistics operations, and that the highest standards of OHS&E are maintained.
• Actively support in-country project personnel in the achievement of their objectives and resolution of any issues.
• Ensure that all work is being executed in accordance with internal requirements and the client’s specifications and instructions.
• Prepare and submit weekly and monthly reports. 

The successful candidate will need to have a strong transport / project logistics management background coupled with demonstrated experience within a remote and troubled location.
